Watercolors

Flowers have always been my beginning. Watercolor feels made for them — luminous, layered, alive with light. These original paintings are my attempt to catch fleeting beauty before it passes and hold it, in pigment and water.

Everything I make begins in the same place — a walk, a garden, a hedgerow, a field at its peak. The natural world has always been my subject and my obsession, and I have never found just one way to honor it. So I use many — fused glass, watercolor, acrylic, pressed botanical, cyanotype — each medium finding something the others cannot, each one another attempt to hold what is always, inevitably, passing. The world is endlessly beautiful. I intend to keep saying so.
